Current Courses

In the Fall of 2020, I am directing the History Department’s Distinguished Majors Program, a selective two-year program that enables undergraduates to conduct a research-intensive project that culminates in a senior thesis.

I am also teaching a course on American Utopias with my colleague Jack Hamilton as a part of the University’s Forums Curriculum.

Undergraduate

I teach a range of undergraduate courses that take the interaction between law, social movements, and political power in the modern United States as their central theme.

Recent courses include: Disasters in America from Cholera to Katrina, Eugenics, Disco and Deindustrialization: the US in the 1970s, US History 1900-1945, US History 1945-Present

Graduate

I teach graduate tutorials on the History of US Capitalism, Foundational Texts in 20th Century US History, and Gender and Work.
